Denny High School
On Tuesday 29th November the school helped to host a primary tennis tournament organised by Kirsty Humphries, Falkirk's tennis development officer and Jen Cairns Active Schools Coordinator. Eighty primary pupils took part in the tournament. Thirty of our senior C.S.L.A. pupils helped to run the tournament.
The senior pupils led all the warm ups; organised the younger pupils onto court for their games, acted as scorekeepers, time keepers and umpires all of which helped the tournament to run smoothly and make it a very successfull event.
The pupils also had the opportunity to meet and be photographed with Judy Murray. Judy is the mother of tennis ace Andrew Murray, and herself is a very experienced tennis player. She was Scotland's number 1 woman in tennis for many years, she has also represented Britain on many occasions. As a reward for their excellent help Judy left a few tennis balls signed by Andrew Murray and a signed photograph, which the C.S.L.A.pupils will draw lots for.
